LANGUAGE SERVICES

• What are “source” and “target” languages?

The “source” language is the language of origin, and the “target” language is what you would like it to become. So, if you need a translation from English into Spanish, the source language is English, and the target language is Spanish.

• What is the turnaround time for a quote or translation?

Quotes are provided within a few hours after receiving your request. We will estimate the timeframe and cost of your project at the same time – before we begin to work on your translation project. We have an excellent record for meeting deadlines – even when the deadline is a tight one!

• How is translation pricing determined?

Competitive, fixed-price quotations and delivery estimates are provided on receipt of all materials requiring translation. Services such as desktop publishing are also assessed and included in each quote, if needed.

Fees are calculated on a per-project basis unless otherwise arranged and vary based on a number of factors including language, complexity and length of text, required turnaround time, file format and layout. Simply send us your request, together with any available reference materials and glossaries you may have, and we will be pleased to provide a quote at no charge.

• What are the steps of the translation process?

A typical translation process involves several steps: translation, editing/proofreading, and desktop publishing.

All our expert linguists are native speakers and hold a degree and/or certification in translation. They also have an extensive experience in the subject matter of the material to translate. Once the translation is completed by one translator, another qualified professional checks the work for accuracy, grammar, and culturally appropriate style. Finally, after the project is reviewed by a proofreader, it is typeset by a desktop publisher if applicable.

• What is certification, and do I need it?

If required, certification is free of charge. We, as a company, certify that we have provided a true and faithful translation of one language into another, indicating the translator’s name and specifying the nature of the document.

• What is notarization, and do I need it?

A notarization service implies an additional charge to the translation cost. A certifier must swear before the Commissioner of Oaths or Notary Public that the translator is fluent in both languages specified. It is also sworn that the translator has provided an accurate translation of the specified text.

This service is not needed in all cases, but it is important for any document going to consulates; especially US destinations, divorce proceedings, or anything involving legal or medical materials.

• How do I send my document(s) to you?

• What if my documents require the highest security?

Amatista makes every effort to treat all clients as though their material is classified. We use only the highest security methods for e-mail and storage, and all of our computers are password-protected to ensure the protection of your material.

Your information is never shared, and your privacy is our utmost priority. After all, we hope to forge a long and happy business relationship with our clients.

• Will you format my document?

We will do our best to follow the formatting of the original document, so you will receive a translated document looking as similar as possible to its original.

For certain documents requiring desktop publishing, we will let you know the price before starting the project.

• How will you deliver the finished project to me?

There are different ways to deliver the translation: electronic copy via e-mail that you will then desktop publish and/or print (for those translations not requiring certification), hard copy via regular mail (free of charge) or by currier services (extra charge will apply). We will deliver the documents to you according to your instructions.

• Can we still do business if I’m not in Toronto?

Absolutely. This is a truly global business thanks to its digital nature, so we welcome business from everywhere. Even if you’re not a huge corporation, or if you’re looking to have personal papers translated… if you have access to email, that’s all you need!

We will even send you the hard copies as fast as you need them, though this may be subject to additional courier costs if applicable. Just let us know what you need, and we’ll make it happen.

• What are your hours of operation?

Our standard office hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm EST (Toronto, Canada); however, our after-hours line is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If your request is urgent, we will try to contact you back as soon as possible. Simply call or send a text message to the general number and we will answer your request.

• What is the turnaround time for my accounting?

We understand that accounting is a time bound process and it is critical to get the accounts completed within time period. We would ensure that we adhere to the timelines for your accounting needs to help you in filing your tax returns and other compliance.

• What type/structure of businesses can outsource their accounting and bookkeeping services?

Most businesses can outsource their accounting and bookkeeping services. Small to medium size organizations will benefit from outsourcing those services; this will lead to significant reduction in operation costs. We know that each business is different so we make sure that we first understand your business process and then provide you with a streamlined process that is unique to your business.

• What level of support will I receive from Amatista Professional Services?

At Amatista we believe that timely and clear communication with our clients is important. We have established a process whereby our clients will have access to their bookkeeper(s) 24 hours a day via Skype, Email, Telephone, etc.

• Will I lose control of my operations if I outsource my bookkeeping function?

No. As a business owner you will attain more control, access, reliability, internally audited financial statements and records that shall facilitate a better understanding of your financial status.

• Will working remotely increase my cost?

No. Amatista will use your current system that you have in place or we can provide you with an up to date accounting system that will meet your needs. The decision is completely yours.

• Do I have to do away with my existing accounting staff or accountant once I hire your services?

We at Amatista have the expertise to manage all your accounting and bookkeeping needs. It’s up to you to decide whether you want us to manage your accounts in part or fully depending upon your requirement. For many of our clients we work in close association with their existing resources to achieve the greatest value for your business.

• How does Amatista ensure confidentiality of data?

Amatista signs a non-Disclosure agreement with the clients to ensure that the data remains complete secure. All the data in our organization is stored on cloud which is protected by two way authentication. We use Dropbox, Google Drive for storing the data.

• In which different software we work for accounting and daily bookkeeping?

We work mainly with QuickBooks online, QuickBooks enterprise (Desktop) and QuickBooks Pro. We may be able to accommodate your request if you work with a different accounting software. Just give us a call or send us an email.

• Can we set up a new company in any software?

Yes, we can set up any new company.
